"Everything that has been taught at universities in South Africa across the 20th century was based on European perspectives of society and the world. The social sciences - including Economics - were brought to Africa on the back of, and as part of European colonialism's "civilising missions" and, for the most part, were driven, methodologically, along a "direct, narrow and straight path."
